Native Entertainers selected as Headliners for historic Diné Pride

The Navajo Nation gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and two-spirit community will host the largest Indigenous Pride in the country this weekend from June 28-29, 2019.

The Board of Directors announced the official line-up of entertainers and recording artists confirmed to perform at this historic event. They include former LGBTQ+ title holders, a nationally-renowned Trans rights leader, and a award-winning recording artist. Mattee Jim is the official Pride Hostess and Thomas Martinez, aka Tomahawk Martini, will lead in his second year as Entertainment Director.

Our entertainers are just as fabulous as they are diverse. We will celebrate our uniqueness and the Art of Drag.
- Thomas Martinez, Pride Entertainment Director

This monumental two-day celebration will include a Diné Transgender Visibility Symposium, Welcome Reception with Queer Showcase, a rainbow lighting of the Navajo Nation Council Chamber, 5K Color Run, a Pride Festival at the Window Rock Veterans Memorial Park, and an After-Party hosted by nationally-renowned Galaxy DJs in Gallup, New Mexico.

We selected the best entertainers around the country who are Indigenous, Latinx, or a person of color. It is important to our celebration that we uplift the voices and stories of those in our community who are doing tremendous work.
- Alray Nelson, Pride Chief Operating Officer
