Valentine's Day Drag Show planned, Hundreds to attend Diné Pride LGBTQ+ Scholarship Fundraiser

The Diné gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and two-spirit community will host the first-ever Queens of Hearts Valentine's Drag Show & Dance in downtown Gallup, New Mexico, on Saturday, February 15, 2020.

Hundreds of LGBTQ+ supporters, allies, and community leaders are expected to attend this fundraising event that will benefit the Diné Pride Scholarship Fund.

Diné Pride continues to partner with well-known, respected entertainers and businesses who have a record of standing with our indigenous LGBTQ+ community. It is imperative to our movement that we bring drag shows, LGBTQ+ expression, and traditional knowledge back to the Navajo Nation about our identities. That is how we inspire and mobilize our young people to be the leaders we need.
- Alray Nelson, Pride Executive Director

The official line-up of entertainers includes many special guests with Jade Martini, Avery Taureaux, and Nova Martini of the BLACKOUT Girls from Albuquerque. The show will be coordinated by Pride Entertainment Director, Tomahawk Martini. This is her fourth year in the role as she plans another epic show for Diné Pride 2020 this June.

Our entertainers are just as fabulous as they are diverse. We aim to honor the lives of our young people. That is why we want to bring the best shows to the Navajo Nation. Our events are raising funds for a scholarship that will send one of our LGBTQ+ students to college so that they can return home to lead our movement one day.
- Thomas Martinez, Pride Entertainment Director
